you only turn 21 once
One only turns 21 once. This is so true, so what do you do to celebrate this occasion in a memorable and unique way?

cheese and wine tasting
For Tanika the choice was easy. Being the fun-loving outdoors person she is, she wanted to do some adventurous and exciting stuff, but still able to spend quality time with her friends. So, she chose the Adventure Truck Ride option that All-Terrain 4×4 offers on Zevenwacht Wine Estate.
She and her friends were treated to a cheese-and-wine tasting in the private tasting room on the estate. Did you know that this privately owned cellar can process 1000 tons of grapes annually? Anyhow, after setting the scene for a day filled with splendour, our vintage 4×4 truck “Kokkerot” was embarked for what they though would be just a drive up to the lookout point.

navigating our way through the vineyards
Well, SURPRISE!!! No road on this farm is level, and on the back of “Kokkerot” no road feels normal. Navigating our way through the vineyards up to the lapa was already great fun, and we thought the fun was still to come?
A quick stop along the way was made to talk a bit about the local viticulture, as well as some interesting facts of yesteryear. Did you know the famous Afrikaans author Herman Charles Bosman’s great-grand father was one of the previous owners of this farm?
Arriving at the lapa area in the middle of the off-road trails, one is greeted by astonishing views. The Cape Peninsula lies buzzing below your feet, whilst further to the east the Boland mountain ranges stands towering as if guarding that below it.

anticipation and anxiety were evident

The youngsters were talking away and even kicking up some dust as they danced away on a “sokkie” tune. The fire was going, and the smell of fresh air was almost too much. But then, suddenly “Kokkerot” came to life again as the 4.9 litre six-cylinder engine turned over. “All aboard!!!” Anticipation and anxiety were evident as we slowly crept forward to a 30° slope. The silent buzz was replaced by shrill yells and laughter as “Kokkerot” gracefully descended the slope.
More was still coming as a short thrill ride was traversed on this tailor-made off-road track. When we stopped back at the lapa, the fire was ready, but the throats were in need of much-needed refreshments.
This experience by Tanika and her friends will definitely be an unforgettable one. Be sure to add this to your memory bank by contacting us.
